XRF-3000

The XRF-3000 is an online coating measurement system designed for continuous galvanizing lines (CGL). It measures metal coating on both sides of the strip while the production line is running.

The system detects any change from the target coating value quickly, so operators can make corrections during production and maintain a more uniform coating.

XRF-3000 is built for high-speed production environments and provides reliable measurement with easy maintenance. Its flexible design and open software architecture also make it suitable for different production requirements.

Single Spot Measurement

In Single Spot mode, the measuring heads can be positioned at any required point across the strip width.

This mode is useful when the main requirement is to monitor the coating weight trend in the machine direction.

Triple Spot Measurement

In Triple Spot mode, the measuring heads are positioned at three selected points across the strip.

Measurements can be taken near the left edge, at the center of the strip and near the right edge. This gives operators a quick view of coating behaviour at different positions across the web.

Continuous Scanning Mode

In Continuous Scanning mode, the measuring heads move continuously from one edge of the strip to the other.

After each scan, the cross-web coating profile is displayed on the operator screen. This helps operators see coating variation across the complete strip width and take corrective action when required.

Measurement Principle

The XRF-3000 works on the principle of X-ray fluorescence. The coating and base metal respond to X-ray irradiation and produce characteristic fluorescence.

The system detects this response and uses the measured signal to determine the coating weight. This allows fast, non-contact measurement while the strip is moving through the production line.
